Jim Bethell

MADL Managing Director, Jim Bethell is accountable for leading all internal and external personnel dealing with estate and facility management across the Group's estate, the procurement and delivery of construction capital projects, property development activity and elements of property masterplanning. With a planned investment of £55 million over the next three years for commercial property development and £367 million for MAG wide infrastructure and terminal development, Jim is responsible for the ever growing activity of MADL.
John Atkins

John Atkins is Strategy and Development Director. He heads up a strategy and development team with responsibility for developing property strategies across MAG airport sites and non-core developments including hotels, offices and cargo facilities. In addition he manages all strategic land purchases and surplus land sales across MAG.
Brad Miller

Brad Miller is Head of Construction. Reporting directly to Jim Bethell, MD – MADL, Brad is accountable for managing the delivery of major construction programmes and minor projects across all MAG airports. Through a mix of in-house resource supplemented by framework supply chain partners, Brad’s team implement schemes to align with strategic masterplanning and customer facing initiatives.
Ria Murphy

Ria Murphy is Finance and Commercial Director for MADL and together with her team of accounting specialists oversees all aspects of financial management and control including project and capital reporting. Integral to this role is the management of the £300 million investment portfolio situated across the four MAG sites and Ria has overall responsibility for the Estates Management team. Ria also has responsibility for taxation matters for the Manchester Airport Group.

Jonathan Young is Programme Director for “Creating Tomorrow’s Airports” a programme of work that is focussed on the sustainable development of MAG Airports (Manchester, East Midlands, Bournemouth and Humberside).

 

Established in 2001, MADL subsequently acquired Ringway Developments plc which has now been successfully integrated into the MADL management structure. Based at Manchester Airport but with smaller satellites base at Bournemouth and East Midlands Airports, MADL has a strong in-house team of circa 50 professional personnel, supported by a flexible range of external technical partnership agreements with major national and international consultants including DTZ, Aedas, Gleeds, Pascal and Watson, Davis Langdon LLP. MADL also has framework contracts with major construction groups including Costain, Lang O'Rourke and Mace.


MADL now boasts a £300 million investment portfolio and manages an estate of over 5000 acres, 200 plus buildings and 850 tenants. MADL also manages an annual capital expenditure programme which will involve a projected c£1 billion expenditure over the next 10 years.
