Premier Travel Inn signs up at Manchester Airport
14th May 2007

Manchester Airport Developments – the property and development arm of the Manchester Airports Group, the second largest airport group in the UK – has agreed a deal with Premier Travel Inn (PTI) to build a new 7 storey 168 bed hotel just off junction 6 of the M56.  PTI is to lease the new hotel, which will be the third limited service hotel at Manchester Airport. The hotel will include a 120 seat restaurant and bar and families will be well catered for with a pair of interlinking rooms on each floor.

John Atkins, Strategy and Development Director for Manchester Airport Developments, commented: “I am delighted that we have been able to attract the UK’s market leading limited service hotel brand to Manchester Airport.  This is an important step for us as we deliver our strategy based on providing more hotel accommodation for the increasing number of airport customers, which is set to rise from 23 million to 50 million by 2030, as set out in our recently published Masterplan.”

Atkins continued: “The Travelodge, which opened last year, has proved to be successful and together with the Tulip Inn, which is due to be completed by Autumn 2007, Manchester Airport Developments will have completed nearly 600 new hotel bedrooms on this site within three years.”

A planning application for the new hotel was submitted in March 2007 to Manchester City Council. A start on site is programmed for later this year with the hotel due to open Autumn 2008.
